Bakwena Lodge is a luxury retreat on the banks of the Chobe River, surrounded by riverine forest and floodplain and the Chobe River that flows right in front of the lodge. Not only is Bakwena good value for money, the riverfront location is excellent and It is a good base from which to explore this region.

The high-ceiling thatched main area is decorated in soft green and cream tones with a few bright splashes. Here you will find a spacious sundeck with river-front position and a delightful swimming pool. Inside there is a well-stocked bar and comfortable lounge and just outside there is a lovely campfire area that overlooks the reed-filled riverbank. There is plenty of shade and natural ambiance in the riverine forest where meals are mostly served alfresco.

There are 15 individually decorated chalets. Ten twin river view chalets, one river view honeymoon suite, one river view family room & five twin treetop chalets. Each comfortable chalet has its own private viewing deck where you can view the river wildlife. Inside the accommodation the rooms have several windows to allow as much natural light in as possible, the beds are covered with mosquito nets, and the walls are insulated to keep the chalets warm at night. They come with an en-suite indoor bathroom which leads out to a screened garden and an outside shower.
