One of the original lodges in Kasane, Chobe Safari Lodge has an enviable position very close to the entry point of the National Park, and offers some multi-night packages which make exploring this area great value for money. The trade-off is the larger size of the lodge, but we think that the extensive setting of the rooms and large main area make this lodge (and the sister lodge behind it, Chobe Bush Lodge) a great choice for the area.

 

The lodge is one of the largest in the area, with a total of 68 rooms set amongst trees lining the banks of the Chobe River. The rooms themselves offer a range of options including double and twin Safari and River rooms and family rooms.

 

The main area has a thatched open-sided building which has views over the river itself – this area is undergoing renovation and is due to be completed in November 2024, so until then meals are being served elsewhere in the lodge to minimise disruption.

 

The lodge has its own pier which the boat safaris set off from, which minimises travel time when heading out on this safari activity, and whilst the boat size is larger than other alternatives along the river, we get consistently good feedback on the atmosphere and sightings whilst on board.
