Ngoma Game Lodge
- 5 Star
- Best from April to October
- Top-class lodge with huge rooms and phenomenal view over the surrounding plains
With only 8 rooms, Ngoma is one of the smallest lodges in Chobe, and commands endless views over the plains and river below, which certainly provide the wow factor for guests during their stay! During the drier months, the plains are populated with elephant, zebra, buffalo and antelope – an everchanging vista as the day goes by.
The main building houses the reception area which leads to the thatched main building – which houses a small library and bar and a dining area placed to allow you to take in those views to maximium effect. The food is excellent here, with a mix of dishes and cuisine, and the team are happy to cater to any dietary requirements. The main area has a number of smaller decks, which add to the feeling of exclusivity, and a small communal pool has been built amongst the rocky outcrops.
Each of the 8 rooms are perched on the ridge, so the emphasis on the panoramic views continues, and each has floor to ceiling windows, making the whole room light and airy. Plus, did we mention it makes the most of the views? The rooms were fully refurbished in 2019 and have a split level design, with a large bathtub plus indoor and outdoor showers (with views of course), and finally a plunge pool which provides a welcome place to cool off during the hotter summer months.
As the lodge is based in the Chobe Forest, activities include bush walks and night drives as well as the standard gam drives and river cruises. If you are looking for a stylish safari base to begin or end your time in Botswana, then Ngoma is a great choice.
