Camp Xakanaxa enjoys the privilege of being one of only a few to be a true year round land and water safari experience. Located within the Moremi Wildlife Reserve, the lodge can accommodate 24 gusts across 11 luxury safari tents (one of which is a family tent).

The thatched main lodge is the heart of the camp, and unusually, juts out onto the river itself, giving the opportunity for fantastic sightings of passing wildlife. This includes one deck for a pool – the other is located by the main reception area and shop, and another for a large firepit area, where guests can gather after a successful safari day to share stories as the sun sets, and a relaxed viewing area. In addition, the main area houses a dining area, with indoor and outdoor options subtly lit by lanterns, and separate bar, lounge and library – perfect for looking up the many species you will have seen during your safari time.

Each classic meru style tent overlooks the Xakanaxa Lagoon, with rooms 5,6,7 and 8 being closest to the main area. The rooms are all raised on wooden decks, shaded by the surrounding forest and have ensuite bathrooms with showers and double basins, tea and coffee facilities and fans.

Being inside wildlife reserve, activities are restricted to game drives and boating only, however, such is the quality of the wildlife in the area, that these are plenty to give guests a fantastic and varied experience.
