Leroo La Tau
- 4 Star
- Best from April to October
- Authentic safari lodge on the edge of the Pans, with day trips further afield possible
Leroo La Tau is situated on the western bank of the Boteti River in Botswana, offers a fantastic blend of comfort and wilderness in a location which is perfectly placed on the annual zebra migration route. The lodge features twelve spacious thatched-roof chalets, each being glass-fronted to provide spectacular river views. The rooms are elegantly designed with contemporary African décor, ensuring a cozy and relaxing atmosphere. Each chalet is equipped with an en-suite bathroom, air conditioning, and raised wooden viewing decks where guests can unwind while observing the abundant wildlife along the riverbank.
The main lodge also features a dining area and bar, perfect for relaxing with a drink after a day of game viewing. For those looking to cool off, there is an inviting swimming pool with comfortable loungers around it, offering a refreshing respite from the African sun. Below, there is a wildlife viewing hide built into the bank of the river, meaning sightings can take place even between safari activities.
A mjor focus are the guided game drives in the Makgadikgadi Pans National Park along the river, together with boat excursions on the Boteti River, bird watching, and nature walks, all led by knowledgeable guides who enhance the experience with their expertise. Additionally, day trips to Nxai Pan and the famous Baines Baobabs can be arranged for those staying for 3 nights (let us know if you are interested) – or even a sleepout under the stars on the Makgadikgadi Pans.
