Ai Aiba Lodge
- 4 Star
- Best from April to October
- Great choice for the area, high standards
Ai Aiba Lodge, also sometimes referred to Ai Aiba Rock Painting Lodge, is dramatically set against huge granite boulders in the foothills of the Erongo Mountain range. The ancient rock formations are the eroded remains of a 130-million-year-old volcanic complex and are stunning. The area also has around 200 different bushman rock art sites which are fascinating. Activities here include a huge range of walking experiences including guided and self-guided, mountain biking trails, San Bushmen living museum visit and nature drives that include visiting several rock art sites.
The central area is an impressively large, thatched building where you will find the reception, bar, lounge with fireplace and dining area. WiFi is available in these areas. There is a thatch-covered veranda that leads out to the manicured lawn where there is a firepit, the perfect place for pre or post-dinner drinks. A pathway leads to a further terraced with a swimming pool and sun loungers with fantastic views of the surroundings.
Each of the 20 bedrooms, including one family room that can sleep four, are stone wall and thatch which fits in well with the environment. Each spacious room has a small lounge with comfortable chairs as well as a mini safe, tea and coffee making facilities and air conditioning. Ensuite facilities include a washbasin, toilet, and shower. Outside there is a private veranda with comfortable chairs and a coffee table.
