Waterberg Wilderness Lodge

Speke says – “The location here is superb and the gardens with the swimming pool is a lovely place to relax. Facilities and accommodation is basic but this does represent fantastic value for money.”

Waterberg Wilderness Lodge is in a valley at the foot of the incredible Waterberg Plateau. The lodge is situated on a farm with beautiful gardens and is a very pleasant and relaxing place to spend some time. The lodge is surrounded by the Waterberg Plateau National Park which is home to over 200 species of birdlife as well as leopard, buffalo, rhino and several antelope species. Activities available include a morning plateau hike, which affords incredible views from the top, sundowner hikes, rhino tracking on foot, rhino tracking drives and self-guided nature trails.

The central area is a large glass-fronted building where you will find the dining room with a terrace outside that also has tables and chairs. Outside there is plenty of space and the lodge has a lovely swimming pool and sun lounger area. There are 12 rooms here, including a two-bedroom family room and a three-bedroom family cottage. These are fairly basic and come with twin beds, bedside tables and lamps and ensuite facilities including a washbasin, toilet and shower. Each room also has a small terrace with a table and chairs to enjoy the views of the garden.
