Canyon Lodge is located just 20km from the Fish River Canyon so has a good location for exploring this incredible area. The main building, and rooms here, are dotted around and among huge granite boulders with lush green lawns, a stark contrast to the surrounding arid area. The lodge certainly has the most scenically beautiful setting of the lodges in the immediate location. Activities options include nature and sundowner drives, 6km morning hike, drives to the Fish River Canyon and a sunrise walk although most will explore under their own steam.

The main building is an old farmhouse, made from natural stone, where you will find the reception and gift shop as well as the bar and large restaurant. During the winter things can get chilly here so there are a number of fireplaces to keep things warm. Outside there is a large veranda, where dinner is often served under the stars but is a great place to appreciate the views during the day. A little way from the main building, in a peaceful and isolated spot is the stunning swimming pool and sun lounger area, the perfect place to relax when you are not out exploring. WiFi is available in the main building and finally, among the incredible gardens, there is a small mini golf course.

Dotted among the stunning gardens and huge boulders the 30 chalets are relatively basic but with all of the essentials. Each chalet comes equipped with twin beds, mini safe, air-conditioning, floor fan and ensuite facilities include wash basin, toilet and shower. Outside there is a veranda where you can enjoy the views of the surroundings.
