Namtib Desert Lodge
- 3 Star
- Best from April to October
- Small lodge, beautiful setting
This lodge is located within a 16,000-hectare farm on the edge of the Namtib desert with the main building and accommodation presented in a rustic, old farmhouse style. This is a spectacular location, in a valley on the edge of the Namtib. Within the main lodge there is one long table where homecooked style meals are served and a lounge with a fireplace for the cooler nights. Outside there is a sundeck, raised on a rocky outcrop – the perfect place to enjoy incredible sunsets.
The simple rooms are a similar style to the main lodge, rustic, colourful and pleasant and come with either a double or twin beds with a writing desk as well as en-suite facilities. With only eight rooms there is a maximum of 16 people, so this always feels homely and welcoming. Activities available within the reserve include hiking trails, ranging from one to five hours, and nature drives which are fantastic.
