Desert Homestead is a super option for the Sossusvlei area and once that gets consistently excellent feedback. There is a great range of facilities here including a delightful swimming pool area with sun terrace and shade canopies, complimentary WiFi throughout, bar and restaurant, a comfortable lounge with fireplace, and a terrace that offers stunning panoramic views of the area. The lodge is located around 30 kilometres from the entrance to Sossusvlei so is well located but also remote enough to be able to appreciate and enjoy the vastness and beauty of the area.

The 27 cottages, including one family room with two bedrooms, are all powered entirely by solar including the air-conditioning and 24-hour hot water and electricity and additionally come equipped with a private sun terrace with shade canopy and a private en-suite bathroom with shower. There are a host of activities available here, outside of visiting Sossusvlei under your own steam, including hiking, horse riding, mountain trails and hot air balloon safaris. As far as comfort and value for money goes this is difficult to beat and highly recommended.
