Sossusvlei Lodge
- 4 Star
- Best from April to October
- Great location, facilities and evening meals
Located at the entrance of Sossuvlei it is difficult to find a better location and one that has more facilities in the area. With 55 rooms this does feel like a larger lodge but the location, standard of accommodation and facilities make this an option definitely worth considering and one that we regularly recommend. Communal facilities include WiFi, an air-conditioned bar, sundowner deck, curio shop, beer garden and swimming pool area as well as an excellent restaurant. This serves breakfast, lunch and an amazing buffet dinner with a huge variety of food, cooked right in front of guests over coal and enjoyed el-fresco overlooking the floodlit waterhole. There are a huge range of activities available here, all bookable from the lodge, including nature drives, quad biking and helicopter flights, to name a few.
Accommodation is made up of standard and superior rooms and one junior suite. The standard rooms are furthest from the main facilities and come equipped with air-conditioning, tea and coffee making facilities, mini safe, terrace and en-suite facilities including a shower. The standard rooms are particularly good for families taking two rooms as these are in ‘one block’ with interleading rooms. Superior rooms are larger and, in addition to the standard rooms, come with a corner sofa (that can be made into a bed for a child under 12), a spacious patio with fantastic views, and a corner bath in the bathroom. The one suite takes the accommodation up a notch or two and comes with a private plunge pool with stunning views.
