Twyfelfontein Country Lodge

Speke says – “This is a nice lodge with a beautiful setting and one of the best locations in the area. With this being a larger lodge, the service is less personal, but it is excellent value for money and worth considering.”

Twyfelfontein Country Lodge is in one of the best locations for visiting the highlights of South Damaraland, just 4km from the UNESCO rock-art site and not far from other highlights including the organ pipes, petrified forests, and the desert adapted wildlife of the area. The lodge itself, an impressive, thatched building, is nestled along the mountainside and blends beautiful with the surrounding environment.

The lodge is larger than most in the area, with 56 rooms, and the service a little less personal but there is an impressive range of facilities. Within the main lodge you will find a large and comfortable lounge, bar, gift shop, guided activity booking desk, large restaurant and delightful swimming pool area set in gardens with sun-loungers.

The rooms are in blocks of eight with four of the rooms having a mountain view and the other four with a plains view, let us know if you have a preference and we will request this. The rooms are small and fairly basic but comfortable and the thatch and high roof keeps things relatively cool during the day. Room facilities include a ceiling fan, mini safe and ensuite facilities including a toilet and shower.
