Lianshulu Lodge
- 4 Star
- Best from April to October
- Brilliant option, beautiful location
Lianshulu is a well-established lodge lying beside the Kwando River within the Mudumu National Park. The position on the river is absolutely stunning and the lodge is very well placed to explore the bush and wildlife of the area. The density of wildlife is not as high as in Etosha but potential sightings include elephant, buffalo, hippo, zebra, waterbuck and roan and sable antelope to name a few. Predators, including leopards and lion, are also present. Birdlife here is seriously impressive with over 400 recorded species. Activities available include nature drives, guided morning walks, birding and, water levels permitting, photographic and sunset boat cruises.
The central area, an open-sided wood beam and high thatch building, is home to the comfortable lounge, bar, small gift shop and dining area. Outside there is a large deck, overlooking the river where meals are often served, and a firepit which is the perfect place for pre or post-dinner drinks. Leading up from the deck are some steps that takes you to a raised platform with seating and far-reaching views of the landscape. Within the grounds, there is also a swimming pool and sun loungers.
The 11 high thatched roof bungalows, including three slightly larger bungalow suites and a family bungalow, are placed with beautiful views over the river. These are fairly simple and come equipped with twin beds, a writing desk and chair, and comfortable armchairs. Ensuite facilities include a washbasin, toilet, and shower. Through a large glass door is the veranda with a wooden table and chairs that has beautiful views over the Kwando River.
