Maramboi Tented Camp

Speke says – “This is an option that, under the right logistical circumstances, could come in handy although this is not likely to feature in many itineraries. We do like it, we would just like to move it somewhere better.”

Maramboi has an interesting location, not quite in Lake Manyara but half-way between Tarangire and Lake Manyara National parks. This is a positive in that you can go from Tarangire and spend the night here before going on to Lake Manyara early the next day or if your itinerary does not have a stay in Tarangire and you need a stop off point this could work well. The main high thatch lodge invites a pleasant breeze and houses a comfortable lounge and dining area that leads to a terrace. Here you will find a fire pit, swimming pool and massage room, all of which look out to expansive plains and the wildlife that frequents the area.

There are 44 rooms altogether with a number of interconnecting and multiple bed options so this could be ideal for families. The rooms are all raised on wooden decking and have a private terrace with views of Lake Manyara and the rift valley. Each room has an en-suite bathroom with flushing toilet and shower as well as an internal phone and tea and coffee making facilities.
