Mbali Mbali Mahale
- 4 Star
- Great year round
- Beautiful lakeshore position with modern rooms
Mbali Mbali Mahale sits on a beautiful stretch of sheltered golden beach, with a backdrop of the dramatic Mahale Mountain range, and the crystal-clear waters of Lake Tanganyika in the foreground. Activities here include a boat safari, and fishing excursions and kayaks are available for free use to explore or you may decide to simply stretch out under one of the day beds on the beach and truly relax. The primary activity, of course, is the chimpanzee trekking to find the habituated M-group chimps which takes you into the jungle, with your expert guides, where treks can last for a short time up to several hours and is a magical experience. Once found you will be able to spend 20 minutes observing these wonderful animals in their natural habitat, a truly magical experience.
The common areas here are housed under a large wood and thatch central building where you will find the bar, comfortable lounge, free WiFi, library, and dining room. On the upper deck there is a lounge area with stunning views over the lake. On the beach there are a number of places to sit and relax and you will also find a campfire area as well as wooden jetty.
Each of the 10 well-appointed beach tents has been strategically positioned to offer guests privacy, while still allowing easy access to the beach and communal areas. Each tent is on a raised wooden platform, with a thatched roof above, and has 24-hour electricity and hot and cold running water. Within your room you will find either a double or twin beds, 24-hour electricity and lighting, a writing desk and chair and a decked veranda with seating overlooking the lake. En-suite facilities include a flushing toilet, double sink and an indoor and outdoor shower.
