Roho Ya Camp
- 4.5 Star
- Best between June to November
- Stunning setting in a super wildlife area
Roho Ya is one of the newest additions to Nyerere and has a fantastic location on a small peninsular overlooking Lake Nzerakera. This camp is owned and operated by Asilia Tanzania who are a long established and excellent operator, very well respected for their amazing camp staff, food, and guides and Roho Ya is no different offering walking, boat and vehicle safaris. The central main areas of camp consist of two large tents, one housing the comfortable lounge and bar, with WiFi, and the other the dining area although, more often than not, the meals are served al fresco by lantern light which is a wonderful experience. A short distance from the central tents is the lovely swimming pool area with a decent sized swimming pool and loungers, the perfect place to relax and cool off when not out on a safari adventure.
The eight rooms here, including one family room, don’t follow a traditional safari tent set up, apart from mosquito netting that surrounds the rooms and a screen behind the bed area, these are completely open to allow maximum enjoyment of the views and surrounding bush. Within the room you will find either a double or twin beds, with a cool breeze unit positioned over the bed to keep you cool during the night as well as a writing desk and chairs with small coffee table. The private en-suite bathroom includes twin sinks, flushing toilet and an indoor and outdoor shower with running water.
