Oliver’s Camp

Speke Says – “One of the first accommodation options within Tarangire and absolutely one of the best. The camp itself is superb and the tented suites and main lodge are very impressive without doubt, but it is the food and staff that takes Oliver’s to the next level, absolutely first class.”

Olivers Camp was one of the first operations in Tarangire and such has an excellent position for wildlife viewing within the park. Owned and operated by Asilia Tanzania, who have a well-deserved reputation of having some of the best food, staff, and accommodation anywhere in Africa, you are sure to be looked after extremely well and with a high level of comfort and luxury here. The main building is a very impressive two-story thatched lodge that, despite the size, seems to blend in effortlessly with the surrounding bush. On the top floor there is fantastic lounge and viewing deck with superb views and the ground floor is home to the dining area. Just in front of the main lodge there is a fire pit that is perfect for pre or post dinner drinks and then just below that you will find a further decked area known as the lookout for the sweeping views that you are afforded from there.

Rooms are very large, permanent tented suites, with a thatched roof and have wonderful views of the surrounding bush from your private terrace. These are decorated in earth tones to match the surroundings, and each have private en-suite bathrooms with flushing toilets and both indoor and outdoor showers. With only ten tented suites, including one four-sleeper family tent, and the large main lodge this camp doesn’t ever feel busy, and you will feel like you are well and truly immersed in the nature and beauty of the park.
