Butiama is located on the west coast, just outside the Marine Park boundaries and 10 minutes by car from the airstrip so is perfectly located all round. The lodge is set on a beautiful stretch of beach which is less common in Mafia compared to Zanzibar and is the perfect place to relax and enjoy the beauty and privacy of the area. This family owned and run beach property has a large thatched main building which is home to the comfortable lounge, bar and beachfront swimming pool which is a wonderful place to watch the sunset with a drink in hand. There is also a small but fantastic spa that offers a range of treatments.

All of the 13 en-suite bungalows are spread across the property, by the beach and amongst the tropical gardens and forest. Each room comes with unique hand-crafted furniture and are decorated with colourful hand-woven textiles and room facilities include electric fans, safety deposit boxes, with en-suite facilities including a toilet and shower. All of the rooms are finished with a large private veranda with comfortable furniture for relaxing.
