Pole Pole is a fantastic option in Mafia, privately owned and operated, it is well respected and renowned for offering a high standard of accommodation, cuisine, and service. The lodge is located around 20 minutes from the airport on a gentle hillside overlooking the beautiful Chole Bay. The central area here, a large wood and thatch building, is where you will find the bar, lounge and dining area which is open all round and offers fantastic sea views. There are also further, smaller, thatched buildings dotted around the property with comfortable seating to relax and enjoy the surroundings.

The swimming pool area, located back from the beach and surrounded by lush vegetation includes a lovely swimming pool, sun loungers and a pool bar and this whole area is delightful to spend some time in. Further facilities include a small but excellent spa offering a range of treatments. There are a large range of activities here including guided mangrove walks, snorkelling, and sailboat cruises as well as inland activities including visits to ancient ruins, Ras Mkumbi lighthouse and the capital Kilindoni.

There are just seven rooms in total here, five bungalow suites and two, two-bedroom suites. The elegant, spacious and charming bungalow suites are made of wood and thatch and within the room you will find either a double or twin beds, depending on your preference and a writing table and chair with plenty of space for clothes and luggage. En-suite facilities include a double wash basin and shower. The room is finished with a large, decked veranda with a day bed, comfortable armchair, table and chairs which is the perfect spot for relaxing and enjoying the views. The two-bedroom suites have an additional room that can sleep two so is perfect for small groups or families.
