Manta Resort

Speke says – “Putting the incredible floating room aside, this is a lovely option on a stunning island that is absolutely unspoilt with an incredible beach. If rest and relaxation is your thing, and/or diving, you will be very happy here. If you are looking for a lot of activities and excursions this may not be right for you.”

The Manta resort perfectly personifies rustic barefoot luxury with its stunning and remote location, perfect powder soft sandy beach and a relaxed atmosphere. If you are looking for somewhere to put your feet up and recharge your batteries, there may not be a finer place. The main area here, a large open sided thatch building, set at the top of the resort on a hill, is where you will find a large comfortable lounge that leads out to the dining terrace.

The dining terrace is where most meals are served al-fresco with the waves breaking in the background and the most incredible sea views. Seafood is a particular speciality here, and it is excellent, more often than not only hours between being caught and on the plate, although all tastes are catered for. Below the terrace is the swimming pool and sun lounger area with yet more fantastic views of the beach and sea. A few steps down and the beach bar is a great place to relax, with sand underfoot, or be served at your sun lunger on the beach. There is also a lovely spa offering a range of treatments and a dive center that offers dives to some of the world’s top dive sites.

We believe there is no finer beach in the three islands that make up the archipelago. There is no other accommodation in the area, and you are not likely to see anyone other than the odd fisherman in his boat or other guests. Soft, cool, white sand, and at high tide, the sea provides a natural, sandy bottom swimming pool, this is a long stretch of sandy perfection.

There are 18 rooms in total and these are made up of the garden rooms, superior garden rooms, seafront villa and the incredible underwater room. The garden rooms are located at the back of the resort, still within easy reach of the main building, and come with a king sized bed, en-suite bathroom and outdoor shower as well as a small veranda with comfortable chairs. The superior garden room is much larger with a king size bed and comfortable lounge as well as en-suite facilities and a private garden area with outdoor shower. The seafront villas are large open plan rooms with a king size bed and en-suite bathroom with a large veranda that has stunning sea views and also has a private plunge pool. Lastly, the underwater room offers an experience like nothing else, being able to sleep, in comfort, under the ocean with a lounge above and sun deck on the third level of your own floating room, just unbelievable!
