The accommodation is set on a very large beachfront setting and is fringed by palm trees with a stunning sandy beach and beautifully manicured gardens. With only 30 villas, this stunning all-inclusive boutique resort is a fusion of Arabic, Swahili and Indian design with beautiful antiques, brass lanterns, and handmade furniture throughout, reminiscent of the Sultan’s Palaces of old.

There are a large range of facilities at Baraza including a good-sized fitness centre, boutique shop, business centre, tennis court, water sports centre, PADI scuba dive centre, library, and yoga. Baraza offers a year-round unsupervised kids club with toys, games and activities as well as a shallow-depth swimming pool. This is, however, supervised (with certain conditions, please check with us) during the months of July, August and December. The main swimming pool is beautiful and has a pool side bar and lunch restaurant, which is the perfect place to relax and be looked after by the outstanding Baraza staff. There is also a breakfast restaurant, a stunning evening al-fresco bar area and a main dining room that serves fantastic food with service to match. Finally, the large spa here is absolutely superb with a number of treatment rooms and an extensive list of treatments that will leave you feeling like you are walking on air. The spa even has its own swimming pool and loungers which is a lovely place to relax after a treatment.

The villas here are some of the best rooms on the island, if not the country. There are five different villa categories including seven one-bedroom ocean front villas, seven one-bedroom standard villas, which are just behind the oceanfront villas and have partial sea views, and five two-bedroom villas located behind the standard one-bedroom villas. There are also 10 two-bedroom garden view villas at the back of the property although still only two minutes to the beachfront. Finally, the two-bedroom presidential villa is located on the beachfront in a private setting.

All of the villas are very similar in style and décor and are designed to characterize classic Swahili architecture featuring dramatic arches, cement Baraza benches and intricate hand carved cement decorations. The huge villas feature luxury interiors, beautiful fabrics, hand carved furniture and brass lanterns, large bathrooms with luxury fittings as well as a spacious terrace and private plunge pool with sun loungers. In room facilities include a living room area with satellite TV, CD player, lounge bed, air-conditioning, mini bar with tea and coffee making facilities, free WiFi, and en-suite facilities including a free-standing bath. The two-bedroom villas include a second bedroom with an en-suite shower room.
