Serena Inn
- 4 Star
- Avoid from March to May
- Central location, iconic great all round option
The Serena Inn is made up of and old Extelcoms building, and an 18th century doctors residence and much of the architecture from the original buildings have been restored and kept to this day which gives a wonderful feeling to the hotel. The location is one of the most desirable in Stone Town, right in the town centre yet also on the sea front with sweeping ocean views. As you enter the hotel there is immediately a feeling of going back in time with a grand reception area and lobby adorned with intricate wood carvings which is stunning. A hallway leads through to the large courtyard where you will find the beautiful swimming pool, sun loungers and boutique gift shop with the fantastic Masahani bar set to the side with indoor and outdoor seating.
The main facilities continue with the excellent Baharia restaurant which is set on the edge of the property with stunning sea views and serves a variety of delicious local and international dishes. For those that like the freshest seafood then the terrace restaurant, located on the hotel’s roof top is must during any stay here. This al-fresco candlelit dining experience is fantastic with the waves breaking in the background and the gentle sea breeze.
