The Seyyida Hotel & Spa

Speke says – “This is a really lovely hotel in a great location with very comfortable rooms. The rooftop terrace is absolutely stunning and probably the biggest draw here although the swimming pool is also fantastic. We really like it and highly recommend.”

Located in the heart of Stone Town, and within very easy walking distance to the key attractions, the Seyyida is a beautiful hotel which was once a royal residence. The 17-room property, with an inner garden courtyard, archways, marble floors and fantastic Zanzibar doors emulates Swahili, Arabic and Portuguese architecture. The main facilities here include a small but delightful swimming pool, a small spa offering a range of treatments and a comfortable rooftop lounge and a terraced al-fresco dining area that overlooks the bay, the perfect place to enjoy a delicious dinner with the ocean and boats in the background.

There are a mix of rooms available, all along the same lines with a pleasant classic old-world style but with modern home comforts. All rooms come equipped with a satellite TV, king size or twin beds, writing desk, air-conditioning, tea and coffee making facilities, in room fridge, and en-suite facilities including a shower. The main difference between the room types are the views and some of the higher category rooms come with a balcony with either town or sea views. There is also a two-bedroom apartment available here with two king or twin beds in each room, both with en-suite facilities.
