Linyanti Wetlands
Accessible by light aircraft from Kasane or Maun, the Linyanti region of the Chobe National Park and surrounding concessions offer truly remote and off-the-beaten track safari experiences. Whilst some lodges are inside the National Park many are in private concessions and offer the full plethora of activities Botswana is renowned for, including night drives, walking safaris and even mokoro trips.
Best known for it’s high predator populations, the lure of potential wild dog sightings along with lion and leopard is a major draw to the area. Despite the name, which is earned as the Linyanti region holds some of the first permanent water of the season, the Linyanti region is in fact a diverse region of woodlands, open grasslands and the Linyanti River which runs through the northern-most sector.
The Linyanti region is home to the private Kwando, Selinda and Linyanti reserves, and accommodation ranges from classic safari camps all the way through to some of the most luxurious lodges in Botswana.
