Splash Camp
- 4.5 Star
- Best from April to October
- Large rooms and a wide range of safari activities in a very comfortable lodge
The northern areas of the Okavango Delta feature larger expanses of savannas punctuated by lagoons and tributaries, and Splash Camp benefits from being one of the few lodges in the Okavango Delta which can offer year-round water-based activities as well as the full complement of traditional game drives and walking safaris. Located on a waterhole which draws in wildlife from across this 185,000 hectare private concession Splash Camp presents 12 luxury tents (including two well-sized family tents), each with generous and tranquil living spaces, surrounded by sophisticated furnishings. Each tent is on raised decking, so offers the perfect viewing deck in between morning and afternoon safari activities.
The central area of the camp is absolutely beautiful – deliberately rustic so as to showcase the beauty of the area, and is a fantastic place to spend time around. This is the heart of operations at Splash, and also includes a boma area, firepit to spend pre-dinner time chatting through the day, a curio shop and small plunge pool. Please note that Splash Camp is unfenced so wildlife can (and does) roam freely through.
In addition to open vehicle safari drives (including night drives) and walking safaris, mokoro excursions and boat cruises will provide the ideal position from which to explore the endless flow of rivers and tributaries.
