Dar es Salaam

Dar es Salaam is the administrative capital of Tanzania and certainly has a big city feel to it. There is little to offer international tourists here other than a convenient place to spend the night before or after flights, should this be necessary.

The airport here serves as the largest entry point into the country so this will likely feature in many itineraries although we try to avoid including a stay here, partly because it is often not necessary and isn’t the best use of your time, but also because of the terrible traffic, a five-mile journey through the center often takes over an hour no matter the time of day!

If you do find yourself spending the night there are many larger, international standard, and very comfortable hotels to choose from with a wide range of facilities, as well as one or two smaller, high-quality offerings.

accommodation

The accommodation that we feature is just a snapshot of the sort of accommodation that is available and not the only options that we work with, the portfolio of properties that we work with in Africa is one of the largest of any agent, but we don’t feature all of these simply because there would be too many!
