Words cannot give justice to the Jaw dropping beauty and intrigue of the Ngorongoro Crater. You will never forget the first time that you gaze down into this mighty collapsed caldera, 10 miles across with steep forested walls, which is a haven for a huge variety and density of wildlife. A morning game drive starts with descending through the dense forest and lush vegetation until you reach the crater floor where it is possible to see the ‘big five’ (leopard, lion, buffalo, elephant and the endangered black rhino) in one game drive.

Often referred to as ‘Africa’s Eden’ the crater floor has a population of around 30’000 animals, all of which are permanent residents. Regular sightings here include lion, hyena, leopard, wildebeest, buffalo, huge tusker elephant, hippo and cheetah to name just a few.

The wildlife hear is so well protected by the crater walls, and the soil so fertile, that they have no reason to leave which makes this one of the best wildlife viewing experiences anywhere in the world. Scenically stunning and with phenomenal wildlife it is no surprise that this is a not to be missed part of any safari in the area but it is worth noting that the crater floor can get busy, and sometimes very busy, however to miss seeing this, one of the seven wonders of the African continent, would be a real shame.
