On arrival in Maun, the first highlight is your transfer into the Okavango Delta by light aircraft - keep an eye out for wildlife below! Alternatively, we can arrange a road...
...transfer - just let us know if that's what you would prefer. On arrival at your lodge, you will have time to freshen up and settle in before heading out on your first safari!
Safari days start bright and early! Your early morning wake up call is followed by a hot drink to start the day and then you will...
...depart with your guide to explore the Okavango Delta.
Wildlife sightings in the Okavango Delta feel truly authentic and exclusive. Many concessions only have a couple of lodges in, meaning less vehicles around and sightings which can be extraordinary. Depending on where you stay, game drives, boat cruises, helicopter flights, mokoro trips, walking safaris and even hot air ballooning may be on offer. Be sure to tell us if you are particularly keen to try any of these.
Next full day on safari. One of the highlights for many travellers is the chance to extend sighting opportunities beyond the safari activities, and the fact that most lodges in this area are unfenced provides an exciting chance of seeing wildlife passing by the main lodge or even...
... your room during the downtime in the middle of the day. Ask your guide where the best places to relax with a book to potentially spot passing wildlife is too.
The Okavango Delta is the world's largest inland delta, and as such is made up of a mixture of rivers, lagoons, channels and islands - perhaps on one of these your guide will set up sundowners for you to enjoy the changing light as the evening draws in on your later afternoon safari activity.
This morning you will head out for a safari activity before returning to the lodge for breakfast. Your guide will then take you to the airstrip for your onwards light aircraft transfer to the beautiful Linyanti Wetlands, home to elephant...
... lion, leopard and famously, wild dog, amonst the plethora of other wildlife.
On touchdown at the next airstrip you will receive a warm welcome and then be taken to your home for your next couple of safari days. Head out this afternoon in search of the many predators which are located in the area with your expert guide.
Final full day on safari and the chance to head out with your guide (and potentially tracker too) to explore the highlights of the area. The Linyanti Wetlands have a fantastic combination of ...
... open savannah and wooded riverine areas meaning that your sightings can be varied and constantly deliver excellent safari days. Be sure to tell your guide if there is anything you are particularly keen to see!
After a final shorter safari in the Linyanti Wetlands today you will be transferred to the airstrip where you will fly onwards to Kasane...
... Here you will be met by your driver once you have come through baggage claim, and transferred to your lodge in the Chobe region. Depending on if you stay in the Kasane area or the Chobe Forest area road transfer takes approximately 20 minutes to 1 hour, meaning that you will have time this afternoon to head out on an afternoon safari.
Chobe is especially fantastic for elephant sightings during the peak dry season, with many hundreds of elephant sometimes possible to spot in the same safari.
Head out on a morning game drive, heading into the wooded areas of the Chobe National Park and emerging to ...
... head alongside the river in search of early morning wildlife on the move. Watching the kingfishers fishing for their breakfast is a highlight, alongside the busy waterfowl who are tending to their young and starting their day. This afternoon head out for a river cruise on the Chobe River - keep some camera battery to record the famous Chobe sunsets too.
Final full day on safari and you will follow the same activity schedule of a game drive followed by an afternoon ...
... boat cruise. We suggest this order as it reflects the typical movements of the bigger herds of elephant, buffalo and zebra which head down to the river in the latter part of the day, but do speak to your guide if you would prefer to head out on a morning boat cruise. Alternatively, it is possible to arrange a day trip to Victoria Falls today.
Time for a last game drive or you may opt for a relaxed morning before you are met by your driver and transferred back to Kasane airport for your international flights back to the UK (indirect). Wave goodbye to Southern Africa...
