Lake Manyara
Lake Manyara is a very picturesque park consisting of open grasslands and acacia woodland which is set between a soda lake and the steep forested walls of the great rift valley. There are few other places that are scenically as impressive. Wildlife here consists of a good variety including elephant, buffalo, hippo, wildebeest, zebra, warthog, baboon and blue monkeys as well as leopard and tree-climbing lions which the park is famous for.
Manyara also boats around 400 species of birdlife with the flamingo being the most abundant, at certain times of year the lake turns a bright pink with the sheer number. If time allows a visit to Lake Manyara this is well worth including for the scenery alone let alone the interesting array of wildlife on offer.
We generally find that a day trip to this beautiful park will suffice but if this really appeals do let us know when getting in touch and we can recommend some overnight options to consider.
