The months of November to March are ideal for this itinerary which combines time in the iconic Okavango Delta with the lesser visited but no less impressive areas of Nxai Pan and the Central Kalahari. Travelling during this off-peak time means excellent value for money, and is also a fantastic time to see the hundreds of species of migratory birds which arrive into the Okavango Delta together with sightings of the larger variety. Turning to Nxai Pan, the grasses are lush, attracting the annual zebra migration which take advantage of these fertile lands – and predator sightings abound too. Finishing in the Central Kalahari, look out of for desert adapted wildlife who thrive in this extreme environment, and gain insights into the tracking skills and way of life of the local San people who work alongside lodge owners to allow guests to explore more deeply.

Day 2 - Connecting flight to Maun, light aircraft to Okavango Delta. Transfer to Lodge. Overnight Moremi Wildlife Reserve

You will be meet by our representatives once you have come through immigration and bagge claim, and assisted to your light aircraft waiting to fly you into the...

... world-famous Okavango Delta. Your guide will be waiting for you at the airstrip to whisk you to the lodge (of course stopping for any wildlife you see enroute). Settle in and relax before heading out on your first safari activity this afternoon.

Day 3 - Morning and afternoon safari activities. Overnight Moremi Wildlife Reserve.

Full day on safari today to explore the iconic environment of the Okavango Delta. Travelling in the Green Season...

... there are likely to be increasing numbers of migratory birds to look out for in addition to the larger wildlife which permanently reside in the area. Sightings at this time of year can be incredible, and your expert guide will know where to look for the wildlife hotspots to maximise your time.

The months between November and March are the prime time for new wildlife being born; and with this, comes the perfect opportunities for predators to perfect their skill - so sightings can be spectacular.

Day 4 - Morning and afternoon safari activities. Overnight Moremi Wildlife Reserve

Second full day on safari today and there are numerous types of safari activity to try, depending on which lodge you are staying at...

...Perhaps head out on a morning game drive, to make the most of the time that wildlife is most active, or alternatively travel through the river waters by boat to watch birds fishing for their breakfast, amongst grazing herds of zebra and antelope. In the afternoon, explore the Okavango Delta on foot, for a unique perspective and go-slow insight into the fauna of the region. Or relax as your guide gently poles a traditional mokoro (dug-out canoe) through the reed-filled waterways.

Alternatively we could look to head outside the Moremi Wildlife Reserve to the surrounding Okanvango Delta. The advantage of many areas of the Okavango Delta is that your guide is able to take you off-road for closer sightings (without encroaching on the wildlife itself) and you are able to head out on night drives which opens up the possibility of spotting nocturnal wildlife which is otherwise rarely seen.

Day 5 - Morning safari activity then transfer to airstrip for light aircraft flight to Nxai Pan. Afternoon safari activity. Overnight Nxai Pan.

Time for a final morning game drive before you are transferred to the airstrip for a light aircraft flight to Nxai Pan. Your plane will...

...Fly low so you can continue wildlife spotting from the air. On arrival at Nxai Pan you will be transferred the short distance to the lodge and will then head out on an afternoon game drive. A busy and fascinating day as your change lodges and regions.

Nxai Pan has a combination of salt pans and fertile plains, explaining it's appeal to the hungry herds of zebra and wildebeest who migrate here during the months of November-March, and wildlife viewing during this time truly delivers in terms of quantity and quality.

Slide 2
Day 6 - Morning and afternoon safari activities. Overnight Nxai Pan

Full day of safari, centred around an early morning activity - waking up just as the sun is rising, and heading out...

...with your guide in search of wildlife - your safari timings and where you'll go will depend on animal movements and what you find along the way.

You'll have some time to relax and enjoy the lodge facilities after lunch, before heading on on either an afternoon game drive, or perhaps a nature walk led by a local Bushman guide. This is an easy-going, immersive walk not far from the lodge itself which focuses on the ancient San way of life including medical plants, tracking systems and traditional stories which have been passed down through the generations. Returning to the lodge for dinner, you'll have the chance to enjoy the fading light by the fire-pit before being called to dinner for a delicious meal with your fellow guests.

Slide 2
Day 7 - Morning and afternoon safari activities. Overnight Nxai Pan

Today you have the choice of spending the day on game drives in the National Park or to head out on a day trip to...

... visit the historic Baines' Baobabs which are accessible from this area. These huge trees were made famous by Thomas Baines, who had originally travelled to Africa as part of David Livingstone's expedition. Today, the scenery has changed very little from the views those adventurers would have had 150 years ago, which reinforces the might and resilience of these trees in harsh desert conditions.

Safari or visit to these monumental trees in their surreal location - whichever you choose you will be in for a fantastic day.

Slide 2
Day 8 - Morning game drive then transfer to the airstrip for light aircraft flight to the Central Kalahari. Overnight Central Kalahari.

One final game drive and then you will enjoy a hearty breakfast before your guide drives you to the airstrip for your onward flight into the Central Kalahari. On landing...

... you will immediately notice the dry, arid air of this vast remote location, home to some of Botswana's largest lion, as well as brown hyena, leopard, cheetah, giraffe, wildebeest, zebra and herds of springbok and oryx. The constrast between the valleys between sand dunes, patches of acacias, pans, and dried-up river ways is more apparent in the Green season, as tints of green bloom through the sands.

You will head out on twice daily safari activities, and during the hotter period during the middle of the day you will return to your lodge for meals and relaxation in between. As most lodges are unfenced, you might also relax by a pool or on the main area's viewing deck and see wildlife pass right through the lodge or coming down to a nearby waterhole

Slide 2
Day 9 - Morning and afternoon safari activities. Overnight Central Kalahari.

Today you may decide to start the day with a morning walk. You will head into the desert surroundings with your guide who may be joined by a local Bushman tracker. And so will begin...

... a wonderful insight into the local traditional methods of wildlife tracking. The aim of a walking safari is to learn about the smaller wildlife, plants and birds - but as the area is unfenced, there is always the possibility of coming across something bigger too!

In the afternoon, head out on a game drive - be sure to ask your guide as many questions as you can - they are passionate about the environment and it's inhabitants, and happy to share this knowledge with you at every opportunity.

Slide 2
Day 10 - Morning and afternoon safari activities. Overnight Central Kalahari.

Final day on safari, so be sure to make the most of it by heading out on both morning and afternoon activities. The guides will have discussed the most recent wildlife sightings with you the night before so if there is anything you are particularly keen to see let them know. During your downtime in the middle...

... of the day, be sure to grab a book and relax out on your room's private deck or in the viewing area of the communal lounge or viewing platform. Some once in a lifetime memories are formed from an unexpected animal visitor pitching up through the camp, and spending more time outside will give you the best possible chance of these encounters.

Slide 2
Day 11 - Morning game drive then drive to the airstrip. Light aircraft flight to Maun airport to connect with your flights back to the UK.

There will be time for one last game drive before it is time to wave goodbye and fly via light aircraft to Maun airport. For those that are not keen on light aircraft transfers this itinerary is also possible avoiding these...

... All we would need to do is suggest the best lodges for this so do let us know if you would like to explore this option.

Instead of a game drive this morning, you may choose to relax around the lodge - the choice is yours. Your light aircraft will depart the Central Kalahari and you will fly on to Maun. On arrival into Maun airport, you will connect on to your international flights back to the UK. There is a huge range of airlines and routes available, please let us know your preferences when getting in touch
