This itinerary is perfect for those short on time but wanting an amazing safari experience in arguably the best large wildlife viewing place on earth. After your international flights you will have a necessary night in Arusha city where you can relax and get ready for your safari adventure the next day. The next morning you will be whisked away by light aircraft and into the mighty Serengeti in time for lunch with stunning scenery and wildlife in the background. The exact itinerary mentioned falls within one week, including international flights, but it is also possible, and very easy, to add some time in Zanzibar.

Day 1 - Overnight flight from the UK

Depart from the UK for your flight to Kilimanjaro Airport. There is a huge range of airlines and routes available, please let us know your preferences when getting in touch.

Day 2 - Private transfer from Kilimanjaro airport to hotel. Overnight Arusha.

You will be met on arrival and assisted to your private vehicle and driver who will take you straight to your accommodation for the night. You can spend the remainder of the day resting after your journey and preparing for your safari adventure tomorrow.

Day 3 - Morning transfer from hotel to Arusha airport for flight into the Serengeti. Wildlife drive transfer on arrival for lunch. Afternoon game drive. Overnight Serengeti

You will be picked up this morning, by private vehicle and driver, and taken the short distance to the airport for your light aircraft flight to the Serengeti...

...While security measures are tight this is not a large airport and it is not necessary to arrive more than 30 minutes before your flight. Your flight will pass over Lake Manyara and the Ngorongoro crater on the way to the Serengeti so be sure to keep your camera to hand.

You will be met on arrival and set off on a game drive to your camp or lodge straight away. You should arrive in plenty of time to enjoy a delicious lunch with time to settle in before heading out on a shared afternoon game drive in search of lion, leopard, wild dog, elephant, buffalo and all of the wildlife that calls this spectacular place home.

Day 4 - Morning and afternoon shared wildlife drives. Overnight Serengeti

Today will be spent enjoying morning and afternoon game drives. The wildlife of the Serengeti is huge in numbers and far to varied to mention everything but, there are regular sightings of lion, leopard, crocodile, hyena and cheetah as well as...

...plains wildlife including elephant, giraffe, buffalo, and hippo. Birdlife here is also superb with over 500 species including the kori bustard, secretary bird, ostrich and ground hornbill as well as the stunning lilac breasted roller and superb starling.

Do let your guide know if there is anything particular that you would like to see and they will speak with the camp staff and other guides in the area to check on the location of the latest wildlife sightings. Following game drives you can enjoy pre-dinner drinks around the camp fire where you can share stories of your safari adventures with the camp staff and other guests. Be sure to look up when it is dark, with such little light pollution the African night sky is some of the best in the world for star gazing.

Day 5 - Morning and afternoon shared wildlife drives. Overnight Serengeti

Your final full day on safari. A typical day on safari will start with an early wake up call, with a hot drink and small snack, and then you will head out straight away when the predators are most active...

...You will stay out for the morning, returning to camp for brunch followed by a rest for a few hours during the heat of the day when the wildlife is least active, before heading out again for the afternoon.

As you start your drive the excitement builds, thinking about what amazing wildlife and spectacles that you might see. With over 300 mammal and 500 bird species you are sure to have a fantastic safari adventure and, do ask your guide as many questions as you can, their knowledge is encyclopaedic, you won’t catch them out!

Day 6 - Morning wildlife drive to the airstrip. Light aircraft flight to Kilimanjaro airport to connect with international flights back to the UK

This morning you will be able to enjoy one last wildlife drive on the way to the airstrip, keep your camera handy and...

...don’t discount this drive, you are still in the Serengeti and there is abundant wildlife at every turn, you never know what is around the next corner! You will then fly to Kilimanjaro airport by light aircraft.

If you want to extend your holiday and would like to visit Zanzibar then you would continue through the airport for the connecting flight, we will arrange private transfers on arrival and of course you’re Zanzibar accommodation. Alternatively, connect with your international flights back to the UK.
