You will be meet by your driver once you have come through immigration and bagge claim, and transferred to your hotel a short 20 minute drive away. Alternatively, some keen photographers prefer to...
...stay on one of the small houseboats in the area, which have small tender boats to ensure close up sightings during your safaris. Time to settle in and enjoy a late lunch and then you will head out on your first explore of the Chobe National Park. Sunsets here can be incredible, and as dusk falls, the changing light brings ever-changing photo opportunities.
An early start for the first of two guided safari activities this morning. Most commonly you will head out on game drives in the morning and boat cruises...
...in the afternoon whilst you are in Chobe, however, opting for an early morning boat cruise gives the chance for up-close viewings of birds such as kingfishers and egrets fishing for there breakast, whilst tiny Jacanda chicks scoot across the lilies in pursuit of their long-legged parents.
Head back to the lodge for lunch and a chance to check through the photos you have taken so far, before heading back out onto the river for your afternoon safari. Whether you opt for the sundowners or concentrate purely on the wildlife, it is sure to be a memorable time.
After a final morning game drive, you will be met by your driver and transferred into the heart of the Savuti region, a 4-5 hour drive. We suggest this as...
... it gives the opportunity for additional wildlife viewing enroute, however if you prefer it is also possible to transfer to Savuti by light aircraft instead.
The Savuti region is famous for it's predator population, so head out with your guide this afternoon once you have arrived at the lodge for an initial game drive - let your guide know if you want them to reposition the vehicle for the best photo opportunity. Return to the lodge and enjoy dinner under the stars.
Second full day in Savuti, and you will enjoy two safari activities again today. Please note that
... as Savuti is in a National Park, no night drives or walks occur here. There is more than enough wildlife to keep you fascinated on the game drives though!
If you are interested in including a visit to the world heritage rock art at Tsolido Hills please let us know as not all lodges are able to offer this excursion.
After a game drive this morning you will be transferred to the airstrip for your light aircraft flight to the Okavango Delta. Definitely a transfer you will want to have your camera to hand for...
...aerial photos along the way, and even as you land at the airstrip! This afternoon you will head into the bush with your guide - the exact timings and distance covered will vary on what you see, and should last approximately 3 hours.
This evening after dinner, you could relax in the main lodge area under the night skies and look out for different constellations above, accompanied by the sounds of passing wildlife.
Final day on safari so be sure to discuss with your guide what activities are on offer. Some lodges have photographic hides which are perfect for...
... getting photos from a different perspective or angle. There is something truly special experiencing wildlife going about their day unaware of your presence.
Heading out on afternoon activities this is your final full length safari activity, and being in a private concession, you will have the chance to experience a night drive, perfect for spotting the lesser-seen nocturnal animals such as genets and porcupine, and you may even be privileged to see big cats such as lion and leopard start to become more active as the day cools and the sun sets. Whatever your safari brings, it will be an experience to cherish.
Time for a final morning activity and hearty breakfast before you return with your guide to the airstrip, keeping a look out for last sightings ...
...of wildlife on the way. You will fly by light aircraft over the winding rivers and channels of the Okavango Delta before you arrive at Maun airport for your international flights back to the UK (indirect).
